Widgeto counts messages. The Starter plan includes 4,000 per month: every chatbot answer uses one, and at the end of the month the bill is the one you expected at the start of it.
Chatbase counts message credits. How many credits an answer costs depends on the model the agent uses to generate it, so on the same plan the same question can weigh differently. It is a coherent choice for a product that lets you pick the model, but it moves the work of estimating the spend onto you.
A concrete scenario. A site receiving around 4,000 requests a month sits on Widgeto Starter, €29 per month excluding VAT. On Chatbase, 4,000 credits is the Standard plan at $150 per month; the $40 Hobby plan includes 700, and extra credits are sold at $40 per thousand. If you then want the badge off the widget, that is €19 per month on Widgeto and $99 on Chatbase.
This is also why you will not find a "cost per answer" row in the table. On Widgeto it can be calculated; on Chatbase it depends on the model, and inventing an average would be the one unverifiable claim on this page.
