Widgeto vs Tidio: here the AI is already in the price

If you are looking for a Tidio alternative because nobody is watching the chat, here is the short answer: on Widgeto the AI is the product and costs €29 a month, while on Tidio it is the Lyro add-on starting at $32.50 on top of the plan. If you do have agents answering, Tidio remains the right choice.

Who should choose what

Choose Widgeto if

  • Nobody is watching a chat window and you want the site to answer on its own, at night and in August too.
  • You want the AI to be the product you buy, with no components to add to the cart.
  • You want the bill at the end of the month to be the one you planned at the start of it, in euro.

Choose Tidio if

  • You have people answering and you need a shared inbox to route conversations through.
  • You want proactive chats and visual flows to reach visitors before they ask.
  • You want one console for live chat, email and social messages.

What happens when nobody is on duty

It is the situation most small companies are in, and it is the one Widgeto is built for.

Evening requests do not wait for the morning

A chat with agents works when there is an agent. Outside office hours it shows a form, and the reply arrives the next day, once whoever wrote has already looked elsewhere. Widgeto answers the moment the question arrives, at nine in the morning or eleven at night.

Your team stops retyping the same sentences

In almost every support inbox, half the work is answers already given a hundred times: opening hours, terms, timings, how a certain thing works. Widgeto takes those from your pages and documents, and what is left for people are the requests that deserve a person.

One subscription, in euro, with nothing to add up

The bill is one line: the plan. There are no add-ons to size separately and no second ceiling to keep an eye on, and the invoice comes in euro from an Italian company with support in Italian.

An answer that needed nobody on duty

Creactives put Widgeto on their own site, with their name and their colours on it. The answer you see in the screenshot did not go through an agent: no inbox to watch, no shift to cover, no conversation to assign to anyone.

Where the two products part ways

They overlap less than they appear to: one is a tool, the other a suite. These are the rows the decision turns on.

The comparison is between Widgeto Starter and the Tidio configuration that does the same job, that is a base plan plus the Lyro add-on: without Lyro, Tidio does not answer with AI. The Tidio prices shown here are the annual-billing figures from the price list. Widgeto publishes in euro excluding VAT, Tidio in dollars: these are different currencies and we do not convert them. Tidio prices and limits verified on 27 August 2026 at tidio.com/pricing.

Three meters with almost the same name

On Widgeto there is one meter: messages. The Starter plan includes 4,000 a month, and there is nothing else to add up.

On Tidio there are two meters, and they measure different things. Billable conversations on the base plan count conversations a human agent took part in: if nobody answers, nothing is consumed. Lyro conversations count the AI's answers instead, and they sit on a separate component that starts at $32.50 a month for 50 conversations.

A concrete scenario. A site with nobody on duty receiving around a hundred conversations a month: on Widgeto that is the Starter plan, €29 a month, with plenty of headroom against the message ceiling. On Tidio you need the base plan plus Lyro sized for that volume, and the bill is made of two items that grow for different reasons. The base plan grows with the conversations people handle, Lyro with the ones the AI handles.

Then there is the step that matters if you grow. After Growth, which starts at $49.17, the Tidio price list moves to the Plus plan, which starts at $300. On Widgeto the step after Starter is Growth at €79, and the one after that is Pro at €179.

"Tidio Starter costs the same as you, so you cost the same"

The number is right, the conclusion is not, because the two plans do not buy the same thing. Tidio's Starter plan is live chat with people behind it: it includes billable conversations, that is conversations a human agent took part in. The AI is not included.

To get from Tidio what Widgeto does as standard you need the Lyro add-on, which starts at $32.50 a month and brings its own ceiling of AI conversations. The comparable configuration, then, is not "Starter against Starter": it is "base plan plus Lyro" against "Widgeto Starter".

That said, if your real problem is that emails go unanswered and chats sit unattended, the pricier configuration may still be the right one for you. The point is that the two prices you were comparing were not buying the same thing.

When Tidio is the better choice

On these counts Tidio does what Widgeto does not. It is not a matter of buying a pricier plan: it is a different category of product.

You have people answering

Shared inbox, conversation assignment, agent presence: Widgeto has none of that. If your team works inside a chat, that chat has to exist.

You need a helpdesk

Tickets, email and social messages in one place, plus proactive chats and visual flows to speak first. Widgeto answers on the site and stops there.

How to work out which one you need, in an hour

It is not a matter of ticking features, but of what kind of requests you get. You find out by looking at one month of conversations.

Count the unattended requests

Look at a month of requests and separate the ones a person answered from the ones left unanswered or handled with a copy and paste. The second pile is what this comparison turns on.

Test the ten real questions

Load into Widgeto the pages and documents you already have, and ask the ten questions you get most often. If the answers are the ones you would give, that second pile empties itself.

Then ask who answers the rest

What remains are the requests that want a person: a non-standard quote, a complaint, a negotiation. If there are many of them and you have no inbox to funnel them into, the missing piece is a helpdesk, and Widgeto is not one.

The other Tidio alternatives

If what you want is a suite like Tidio, we are the wrong answer. Here is where to look, case by case.

Crisp, tawk.to and the other chats

If you genuinely need an inbox with agents, these are the direct Tidio alternatives: what changes is the pricing model (per workspace, free with limits) and how much AI is included. We do not cover them because they do a job we do not do.

Intercom

The same category one step up, for companies with a structured support team. It is priced per outcome rather than per month: we wrote a comparison with them too.

Keeping Tidio and adding AI beside it

If you need the chat with agents but Lyro looks expensive, a separate widget can coexist on the same site. It is worth deciding which of the two the visitor sees first.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on what you actually use Tidio for. If you need the inbox with agents, the direct alternatives are other suites like Crisp or tawk.to. If in practice you keep it only so that someone answers visitors' questions, you do not need a suite: you need a chatbot that answers from your content, which is Widgeto's category.
No. Widgeto answers with AI from your content, and when it does not know it hands over the way you configured it: a contact form, a handover to an agent, a phone number. There is no inbox inside Widgeto for your team to work in.
Widgeto does not import the Tidio knowledge base, but you usually do not need it to: it indexes the site from its address and accepts PDF and Word. In practice migrating means removing one snippet and adding another. If you are using the inbox with agents, though, that part does not migrate: keep it where it is or replace it with another tool.
Yes. Widgeto installs with one line of code and lives in its own widget, so it can coexist with another chat on the site. It is worth deciding which of the two the visitor sees first, though: two bubbles in the same corner are confusing.
As of the verification date shown, the Tidio price list presents Lyro as a product in its own right, with its own price and its own conversation ceiling; the free plan includes an initial allowance of Lyro conversations. For the current situation, the official price list is linked below the table.
According to the Tidio price list, a conversation over chat, ticket, email or social that contains a message from a human agent; customer requests nobody replies to are not counted. That is why that number does not compare with a chatbot's messages.
